Commercial Gutters in Walton County Georgia
When working with commercial gutter systems please know that they are not the same as residential gutters. They do have some similar characteristics but overall commercial buildings will require different legal or building code requirements depending upon the city or county you are located in.
Gutters come in several styles: K style or U shape are often seen on residential housing. K style gutters are similar to that of crown molding for appearances. This type of K style is also used in commercial applications.
Box gutters are often used in commercial installations. It accommodates greater volumes of water than the K style. It is more subject to collecting debris but typically commercial buildings will not have large trees present to present issues. Box gutters are also available in larger sizes to meet volume requirements.
Common sizes are five inch and six-inch widths. Downspout sizes are also a factor, typically 5″ gutters will use 2 x 3″ downspouts and 6″ gutters will use 3 x 4″ downspouts.
Typical products used for materials on gutters are 24 gauge galvanized steel or heavy aluminum. Steel gives great durability in commercial applications. It is also heavy and must be installed properly to avoid pulling away from the building. Aluminum is a lighter option and will not rust.
